Check the whole wet-room design
This guide has not confirmed a current national membrane clause for Indonesia. That is a gap in this review, not proof that no rule applies. Do not treat a product sheet as the only rule for the job.
The designer must check the building rules, the relevant SNI standards and local requirements. Then choose a seal, base, drain and finish that work together. Get the wet zones, falls and joint details on the plan.
Before work is covered
- Check the rules and standards used in the design, with their editions.
- Check the seal at the floor, walls, door, pipes and drain.
- Follow the chosen system’s instructions for primer, coats and cure time.
- Measure the falls and check where water will go.
- Keep photos, product records and test results with the job file.
Ask the designer or local Dinas PUPR to resolve gaps before the floor is closed. The tile finish does not show what sits beneath it. Neither a contractor’s usual method nor a figure from another country proves compliance.
Sources and review limits
BSN’s catalogue lists SNI 8153:2025, Sistem plambing pada bangunan gedung. That record confirms a plumbing standard exists. It does not prove that all membrane duties are absent. The full standard was not obtained for this review.
PP 16/2021 and Permen PU 29/2006 are part of the source check still needed for a complete current review. Records were read on 6 September 2026. Full annexes, linked standards and local rules remain to be checked by a qualified local reviewer.
