Northern Ireland Technical Booklet H sets a 42° maximum private-stair pitch. Check its own rise, going, width and guarding provisions.
Northern Ireland uses Technical Booklet H (2012) for stairs, ramps and guarding.
For a private stair, paragraph 3.12 sets a maximum pitch of 42°. Table 3.1 also controls rise and going. The maximum rise and minimum going cannot simply be combined: the pitch still has to pass.
Use the Northern Irish document for the whole design. Check the stair type, width, headroom, handrails, landings and guarding in their own clauses. Shared dimensions do not make England’s guidance the governing document.

- Northern Ireland uses Technical Booklet H (2012). Every private-stair and barrier figure matches England, though TB H sets stair pitch via the 2R+G rule rather than a 42-degree limit.
