Nebraska State Building Code: Stairs & Guards
Nebraska's state code is enforced mainly at the local level, with the state edition acting as a backstop where a locality hasn't adopted its own. Figures follow the IRC baseline.
Nebraska’s state code is the Nebraska State Building Code, based on the 2018 IRC. Enforcement is primarily local, but since 28 August 2021 the state code applies by default in any locality that hasn’t adopted a conforming code of its own (the energy code is mandatory statewide regardless). Confirm with your local building department which edition and enforcement arrangement applies to your project.
No confirmed Nebraska-specific stair or guard amendment surfaced — figures follow the IRC baseline. See the US stair & guard rules for the shared figures, and confirm local amendments.
